So I know it's been a minute since I have posted and I am trying to become a better blogger so here goes.

I have a new hobby that I am simply in love with!!!  Quilting.  I am a very beginner's beginner but I am going to classes and trying... "Bless my heart" LOL!!  I started quilting this summer and this is my third completed quilt.  The fabric is "Winter's Lane" by the paper company Kate and Birdie.  I use Aurifil thread to piece the quilt and King Tut to quilt.

I take my classes at Material Girls and Amy, Wendy, and Robin are amazing.  I am having the best time.  This pattern is available at Material Girls but my advice take a class from the most talented quilter out there Amy or take the Stocking class (my current class) from her talented sister Wendy.

I do have lots of paper projects in the works as well so make sure and stay tuned!!

One of my followers on Stampinconnections asked for instructions so here goes.

Supplies:

12” Floral Wreath from the craft store

20 sheets of DSP cut into 1” strips

*sometimes I like to vary mine so I do 1”, ½”, ¾” strips*

Flat head pins

Pencil (for curling the strips)

Sizzix Halloween Dies ( I used a Spider I have and I have a little Halloween saying one but there are tons of cute punches out there to decorate with)

Paper lunch sacks (for sorting)

Ribbon for Hanging the wreath and covering the wreath

Instructions

1.       Cut all your DSP into 1” strips

2.      Sort out your colors

3.      Curl all your strips with a pencil I did them toward each other.  *You can also do it just end to the other end and then spiral them out to cover more space.*

4.      Place your curls into bags separating by color *this makes it easier to keep from grouping two many colors together*

5.       Pin your ribbon in place as a hanger *this also gives you a starting place to start pinning.*

6.      Wrap your ribbon to cover the wreath *I didn’t do that in this example but have done it ever since because it helps to cover any gaps between the curls.

7.      Pin your pieces of paper.  *I labeled my bags 1 – 12 and just started pinning and going through all the bags that eliminated too much duplication of colors

If you have any questions feel free to email me at spotknewt@va.metrocast.net

Free Download

Check out this amazing free down load from My Digital Studio.

Good Morning Stampers and Crafters out there.  Today's post is about MDS2.

I am a traditionalist when it comes to stamping,  but I find that sometimes TIME constraints requires me to use MDS2.   If you like the projects that I am creating and  you would like to try MDS2  you can for free right now!  No obligation.  If you decide you like it the cost to you  is only $19.95.  If it seems like you don't know where to start when it comes to the digital world we can all get together and have a class or I am Srapbooking at the King George Citizen's center on the second Friday of the month.  Just bring your laptop and I am happy to digitally design away with you.  My upline recently created a journal using MDS and can't wait to share that with you in the near future as well.

Every Tuesday the newest downloads come out and if you would like to purchase them follow the link at the bottom of my blog or go to troberson.stampinup.net.

Here are this week's newest downloads

Remember all templates can be customized with other colors, and embelishments.  If you like the pattern but not the color you can recolorize with a touch of button and it will monochromatically change it for you.

So excited to discover the possibilities of MDS2 with you!!!

Up Up and Away

Good Morning Crafters.  Just a quick one this morning.  Last night I worked on a prototype project that will end up being modified.  The main point was to use the new technique that I learned CLEAR BLOCK STAMPING.   I did the background with this technique and sponged on clouds using the scallop punch and a dauber to make clouds.  Come out to our May Craft Club and make your own.   The designer series paper is This and that, the button is the faceted button, calypso coral bakers twine, and rhinestone.  I created the images using MDS.  The punches used were Large Oval, Scallop Oval, and Scallop to make the clouds.  We are doing many new and exciting things come and check out our craft club the first Friday of every month with the exception of July we are going to create a Christmas in July Extravaganza so I see a Saturday for that one!  Let me know what you think.
